Social Impact Program (SIP) 2021

The theme of the initiative is "Transfer of Digital Technology Knowledge towards Youth Employability", and the research group ACTiVE has taken action to implement a Social Impact Program (SIP) to share digital knowledge and skills with the local community. The program was held in collaboration with the Perwira Residential College of UTHM, and took place on November 13th, 19th, and 20th, 2021, with a total attendance of 26 participants from three villages: Parit Sempadan, Parit Jelutong, and Parit Daun. The program was graced with YB Puan Nor Rashidah binti Ramli, who inaugurated the program, as well as several nearby village chiefs.

The participants, who were youth from the involved villages, were introduced to the use of digital applications, particularly Google applications, which have an increase of use in daily routines, for purposes such as email, document sharing, video conferencing, and QR codes. In addition, the participants were also taught how to easily build resumes using graphic editing applications. The participants were satisfied with the training provided and intend to make the most of the knowledge and skills they have acquired.
